Gillardeau oysters are a luxury brand of French Pacific oysters produced by maisan Gillardeau, a family-run company founded in 1898 in the Marennes-Oléron region of western France. Often called the "Rolls-Royce of oysters," they are famous for their plump flesh, creamy texture, and balanced flavor combining brine with sweet, nutty notes.
They finish their growth in the shallow clay salt ponds (claires) of Marennes-Oléron, which develops their unique meatiness and flavor. Each shell features a laser-engraved "G" trademark to provent counterfeiting.
Enjoy served over ice with a slice of lemon or vinegar with chopped shallots.
