“Rice of the Incas”, quinoa has been cultivated for more than 5000 years BC. Quinoa is used as a cereal, although it is part of the chenopodiaceae, like spinach and beets. Quinoa seeds look like little red discs.
Firmer when cooked, it will have a more mineral taste than white quinoa.
Very easy to cook, quinoa can be mixed with meat and fish and can also be eaten in salads!
